Welcome to Richard Blackford’s Images of the Game, where Jamaican Art comes alive.
Sports ia a a multi-billion dollar business, transforming the lives of the individual athlete, transforming societies, cultures worldwide. Images of the Game attempts in these pages to bring our own perspectives on this to the global community. In addittion, we will bring to our audiences, other Images of Richard Blackford’s Jamaica from his canvasses, showcasing other “Images of Jamaica” with his original Jamaican Art.
Cricket, Soccer, Athletics..in fact all sports today enjoys global popularity, what with the diverse distribution of enthusiasts  scattered the world over. In cricket the Australians have enjoyed an unparallelled dominance for much of the last 12 years, the Brazillians on the football field over the last 50 years, and Jamaica in Athletics over the last 60 years.
Individual dominance from icons inclusive of the great Muhammad Ali, Sir Garfield Sobers, Tiger Woods on the golf courses, and the recent sensational Jamaican Usain Bolt. In response,  Australian cricket interests, world Soccer and other sporting administrators, using what is akin to a corporate team building approach, has completely transformed the way how all sport is played and presented to the public.

With a fan bases in the billions, it is not uncommon for jet charters to ferry in fans to Melbourne in Australia, London England, or Mumbai in India to watch the world’s best batsmen defend their wickets like asset managers eager to parade their skills on the world’s stage.

Today the excitement of 20/Twenty, One Day Internationals, the grueling 5 day Test matches, the FIFA World Cup, the Olympics Games and other sports provide the circuit board for artist Richard Hugh Blackford to feed his canvasses with material for Images of the Game. These oil and canvas works serve to immortalize the best players in the sport and are available here at Images of the Game. In addittion, Artist Richard Blackford has expanded his repartoire, and have now included indigenous pieces of non-cricket works to whet the appetite of Art Collectors the world over with his offerrings of his original Jamaican Art.
